North Korea may have just launched a missile intended to attack Guam
(Baonghean.vn) - In an interview with TASS, international journalist Meng Chu Sok - a South Korean expert on North Korea's missiles and nuclear program, said that North Korea is proving that its missiles are capable of reaching Guam, where a large US military base is located.

"Obviously, North Korea wants to convey a message that its actions are not a "hoax", but a real threat to attack Guam," said journalist Chu Sok. According to the latest assessment data, the missile flew 2,700km, reaching a maximum altitude of 550km, capable of reaching the US military base on Guam.
However, according to Meng Chu Sok, Pyongyang decided not to provoke Washington, so it launched the missile in another direction.
The South Korean expert said that North Korea once again showed its determination to complete its goal - building a nuclear arsenal, which is considered a valid "key" to negotiate with the US and its allies. Because Pyongyang believes that if it is capable of carrying out a nuclear attack, Washington will not cause any more conflicts.
According to Meng Chu Sok, North Korea considers this the only strategy to ensure its security. Therefore, it will be impossible to reach an agreement on the possibility of denuclearization in this "final" stage.
"Inter-party dialogue can only take place after North Korea completes its nuclear missile program," Meng Chu Sok said.

At 5:57 a.m. this morning, North Korea launched a missile in an easterly direction from an area near Sunan, Pyongyang, flying over Japan and falling into the Pacific Ocean.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe affirmed that the country will take "full measures" to ensure the safety of its people. According to experts, North Korea's missile launch from the capital Pyongyang is unusual, showing that the country wants to diversify the missile launch area to avoid being monitored by outsiders and possibly launch a preemptive strike./.
