North Korea does not expect improved relations with the US
With the US political establishment still holding an antagonistic stance against North Korea, it is difficult to expect improvement in relations and denuclearization, a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry told the Korean Central News Agency on June 26.

"The US dream of bringing us to our knees through sanctions and pressure has not changed, but has only become more pronounced. Despite the fact that the leaders at the highest level are doing everything possible to establish new relations between the US and the DPRK, it is difficult to expect improvement in bilateral relations and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula when US politicians are still dominated by their long-standing antagonism against the DPRK," the statement said.
The statement was issued in response to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's statement that more than 80% of North Korea's economy is under sanctions, as well as in the context of the one-year extension of sanctions against Pyongyang that the US administration just announced on June 21.
