North Korea destroys Punggye-ri nuclear test site as planned
(Baonghean.vn) - Yonhap news agency on May 23 quoted an anonymous North Korean official as saying that Pyongyang may take steps to destroy the Punggye-ri nuclear test site tomorrow.

When meeting with South Korean reporters on the afternoon of May 23 in Wonsan (North Korea), the above official said: "If the situation tomorrow is favorable, the (destruction of the Pyunggye-ri nuclear test site) can be carried out."
However, up to now, reporters have not been informed exactly about the schedule for destroying the Punggye-ri nuclear test site.
According to the schedule, reporters from five countries, including the Korean delegation, will leave the Galma Hotel (in Wonsan City) at 6 p.m. on May 23 (local time) to go to Wonsan Station, and start departing for Pyunggye-ri by a special train at around 7 p.m. the same day.
From Wonsan Station to Jaedok Station near Pyunggye-ri is a total distance of about 416km, with current conditions and the train running at 35km/h, it takes up to 12 hours to reach Jaedok Station.
Jaedok Station is about 21 km from the Pyunggye-ri nuclear test site, from here reporters will have to continue traveling by car and on foot to reach the reporting area./.
