North Korea: US-South Korea joint military exercise is an 'unprecedentedly disgusting' act

In a military commentary, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Washington and Seoul had openly declared that all joint military exercises between the two countries were aimed at "eliminating the leadership" of North Korea and "overthrowing its system." KCNA said the exercises "have stripped away the veil of lies that they are routine and defensive exercises."

Also according to KCNA, "The joint military exercises named Key Resolve and Foal Eagle 17 revealed that the new administration of President Donald Trump is resorting to a hostile policy against Pyongyang by using force and imposing tougher sanctions and pressure."

North Korea's stance was made in the context of the two allies, the US and South Korea, having just concluded two-month-long joint military exercises, with the participation of 300,000 soldiers.

In addition, the US also sent a strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson and a nuclear submarine to waters near the Korean peninsula.
