North Korea challenges the US Congress to visit its "charcoal bacteria" plant.
The Kim Jong-un regime has challenged the US Congress to inspect a biotechnology facility in Pyongyang that American experts believe produces anthrax bacteria for the North Korean military.
An angry statement from North Korea's National Defense Commission said the facility in Pyongyang specializes in producing pesticides, following an article published last week on the website of the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University suggesting other products.

"Seeing is believing," the spokesperson emphasized, accusing the U.S. government of spreading rumors about Pyongyang's biological weapons program. "Come here now, all 535 members of the House and Senate, along with the idiotic ministers and deputy ministers of the government who only know how to yell out new sanctions."
"Then they can see firsthand the horrific scene inside the Pyongyang Institute of Biotechnology," he added.
The aforementioned comments were published by North Korea's official news agency, KCNA, on June 13.
Last week, Chairman Kim Jong-un inspected the facility, and images of his visit in North Korean media were analyzed by Mellisa Hanham, a senior researcher at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Washington. Hanham argues that the photos show Pyongyang has imported dual-value equipment.
"It's hard not to conclude that this institute intends to produce anthrax bacteria in military-scale batches," she said.
The North Korean National Defense Commission denies the allegations.
