Trinh Minh Hien - the first Vietnamese artist to release a MV to cheer for the 2022 World Cup for a special reason
To cheer for the biggest football tournament on the planet, World Cup 2022, violinist Trinh Minh Hien has arranged the two theme songs "Dreamers" and "Hayya Hayya" into instrumental music for violin, guitar, and accordion. Sharing with Dan Viet, the female artist revealed the inspiration that made her make this MV.
"Dreamers" and "Hayya Hayya" are the two official songs of the 2022 World Cup, released by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). As soon as it was released, the song "Dreamers" performed by Korean singer Jungkook topped the Itunes charts in 102 countries. Meanwhile, the song "Hayya Hayya" by Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha has also attracted nearly 60 million views on YouTube.
Recently, Vietnam's leading violinist Trinh Minh Hien released the MV "FIFA World Cup 2022 Themes". This is a mashup cover of 2 theme songs of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The song was arranged and recorded by her, along with the band TMH.

PVVietnamese Peoplehad a conversation with her about this music product as well as her passion for the king sport:
"Music helps me express my love for football"
What inspired you to make the MV "FIFA World Cup 20222 Themes"?
- After the emotional victory of the Japanese team over the German team, I started to have the idea of making this MV. At that time, I thought why don't I contribute a meaningful congratulation to the Japanese team in particular and the Asian teams in general, above all, the spirit of cheering for the beauty of sports at the 2022 World Cup. Music is a great way to help me express that.
Right after that, the Japanese team also won against the Spanish team to win the precious ticket to the World Cup Quarterfinals. They are the pride of Asia, including me and the band members.
In such a short time, how did you make this MV?
- I filmed the MV at a football field with the children of VietGoal Youth Football Center. The MV was filmed by Italian director Gianmarco Maccabruno Giometti in late November.
Because it was a sudden idea, I didn't have much time to prepare. The 2022 World Cup is taking place every day with excitement and excitement, so every step must be completed quickly. That is also a great pressure for me personally. I was in charge of arranging the 2 theme songs of this year's World Cup, and also in the role of producing the MV in just 3 days. The urgency almost made me cancel the project, but with all the effort and the highest determination, the whole team overcame it and worked day and night to get the MV released on time.
The most special thing about this MV is the appearance of the children from the Youth Football Training Center. An emotional match between the children within the framework of a children's tournament was recorded by us at the right time of producing the MV, it was truly a very meaningful opportunity for me and the band.
Through the MV, I want to convey the message: What sports bring to all of us will always be the most positive source of energy in life, so that each of us feels closer to each other. Sweat, tears, smiles... are always present in every sport and make life better. I also hope that the future generation of Vietnamese football will progress more in the near future. So that one day not far away, Vietnam will be present at the world football festival.
How do you rate the two theme songs of this World Cup that you chose to mashup?
- Until now, perhaps Vietnamese football fans still mention the song "Italian Summer" as the best and most emotional song in the World Cup seasons, and the same goes for me. But just like football cannot have Pele and Maradona forever, it is a flow with many successive generations, so is music.
The two theme songs of the 2022 World Cup both have a youthful musical style, blending cultures, as well as being in line with current music trends of young people. As a professional, I consider these two songs to be in line with music trends and the connection criteria of the organizing committee.

When you arranged the two songs into instrumental music, what innovations did you have to make the music more engaging?
- I still lean towards songs that evoke more emotions, but creating emotions in this day and age is not simple. Everything has to be very fast, the message is short, the impression is strong, that is what our future generation will establish. That is why I thought let's simply go with the flow and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that football brings.
I have arranged the two songs into an Acoustic style so that the audience can join in the melodies of both songs at the same time, spreading the melodies of these two songs. The presence of instruments such as violin, guitar, accordion, cajon... and singer Quynh Pham also makes the music more intimate.
The violin recording itself, which I improvised, is also a highlight, carrying my own style every time I arrange a piece. You can just listen to the Audio, which is already a complete arrangement, separate from the visual part. Although the MV was produced in a hurry, I am confident that the product is extremely professional.

"I believe Brazil will win the 2022 World Cup"
As a fan of the king sport, how does the 2022 World Cup make you feel?
- I started loving football and the World Cup tournament in the summer of Italy in 1990, when I was only 10 years old and had my first color TV. At that time, the World Cup only took place at night, a 10-year-old kid like me still stayed up, I knew the theme song by heart and cried during the Final when Argentina lost to Germany.
As I grew older, there were years when I couldn’t watch all the World Cup matches because of work, but the feeling every time the tournament started was always special. This year, the World Cup was held in the winter, the host country’s grand preparations left a strong impression on me, in addition to the exciting matches.
Which team do you like and believe will win the World Cup this time?
- I am a fan of Argentina, but this year I rate England and Brazil highly. I think Brazil will most likely lift the 2022 World Cup.
