Thieves broke into the commune's People's Committee office, stole documents, but left behind money and a laptop.

(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the accounting office of the People's Committee of Hanh Dich commune (Que Phong district, Nghe An province) was burglarized. Strangely, at the time, money and a laptop were in the office, but only documents were stolen.

On the afternoon of January 11th, Mr. Vi Van Hoai, Head of the Hanh Dich Commune Police, reported that a serious theft had occurred in the accounting office of the Hanh Dich Commune People's Committee, Que Phong District, Nghe An Province. All insurance records of officials and employees, along with some other documents, disappeared.

Accordingly, at around 7:30 AM on January 6th, Ms. Pham Thi Luu (Chief Accountant of Hanh Dich Commune) opened her office door and discovered that her personal filing cabinet had been broken into. She immediately reported the incident to the Chairman of the People's Committee. The leaders of Hanh Dich Commune then reported the matter to the Que Phong District Police for investigation.

Ms. Luu stated that three folders containing documents were lost. One folder contained insurance documents for officials and employees of Hanh Dich commune, and the other two folders contained numerous documents and receipts for income and expenses of Hanh Dich commune.

When Ms. Luu discovered the theft, the cabinet door in the Accounting and Cashier's office had been pried open, the employee's laptop was on the desk, and the money in the safe was intact.

Ms. Pham Thi Luu, chief accountant of Hanh Dich commune, added: "At the time of the theft, the Accounting and Treasury office had four people holding the keys: myself, the treasurer, the revenue accountant, and another revenue accountant who transferred to a neighboring commune four months ago."

The drawer belonging to Ms. Pham Thi Luu was broken into by thieves who stole her ledgers and documents.

Currently, the Que Phong District Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
