Thief nearly 1 billion VND spent all in casino
Taking advantage of the dark, Toan broke into people's houses and stole a large amount of property worth nearly 1 billion VND, then sold most of it to gamble.
On the morning of March 5, Chau Thanh District Police, Kien Giang Province, announced that they had just detained Le Trung Toan, 18 years old, residing in O Mon District, and Phan Vu Hao, 21 years old, residing in Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City, for theft of property.

At the police station, Toan and Bao confessed that on January 13, they both went from Can Tho city to Kien Giang to play. At around 1:00 a.m. on January 14, Toan invited Hao to go find property to steal.
After that, Hao drove a motorbike with Toan to the market area in Binh Loi hamlet, Minh Hoa commune, and discovered a closed house with no one guarding it, so Toan asked Hao to stay outside and watch the road while Toan broke in. After searching, Toan stole a cloth bag containing 4,000 USD, 15 million VND, 24.8 taels of 24K gold and SJC, then both escaped to a motel in Can Tho city to hide.
Three days later, Toan brought the stolen property to the border gate of Tinh Bien district, An Giang province, and asked a friend to sell it for 845 million VND. Toan gave this person 60 million VND, divided 40 million VND with Hao and a motorbike worth 23 million VND. Toan took the rest to the Cambodian border and lost all of it gambling.
It is known that Toan has 6 previous convictions for theft and drug use.
