According to the investigation, more than a month ago, through professional measures, the Criminal Police Department discovered a gang specializing in stealing goods of great value when driving container trucks to deliver goods. The location where they stopped the vehicle to steal goods was determined to be in Ho Chi Minh City and they consumed the stolen goods in the area.

On January 7, the joint force ambushed and arrested 8 members of the gang. During searches at several locations, the police seized 2 trucks, 1 car, and 646 boxes of goods, including towels.

Through investigation, it was determined that Chien knew Lam Quang Quang (40 years old, living in Thu Duc City). Knowing that Quang specialized in selling garments, Chien decided to steal this type of item to ask Quang to sell.

Chien discussed with Dao Minh Tuan (27 years old) and Luu Thanh Lai (29 years old, both from Binh Duong) to organize a professional theft group.

According to Chien's arrangement, Tuan applied to work as a container truck driver for a freight forwarding company based in Binh Tan district. Chien provided Tuan with a fake set of documents, citizen identification, FC class driver's license... under the name Nguyen Tuan Hung (31 years old, from Dong Nai).

After that, Tuan was sent by the company to pick up the goods at Song Wol Vina Company (in Tan Duc Industrial Park, Duc Hoa District, Long An Province) to be transported to Cat Lai Port, Ho Chi Minh City. During the process of transporting the goods, Tuan would contact Chien and Lai to the meeting point, then cut the seal, steal the goods and put them on 2 trucks to transport them away.

Chien also arranged for some other people to quickly transfer the stolen goods to the warehouse for storage and then continue to transfer them to Quang for consumption.

Police determined that in the first 5 days of November 2022, this group committed 3 thefts. Song Wol Vina Company confirmed that the stolen goods were estimated to be worth 2.4 billion VND.
