Nearly 900 illegally grown cannabis plants have just been discovered and seized by Tan Son District Police, Phu Tho Province.
At around 2:30 p.m. on May 15, Tan Son District Police inspected the camp of Mr. Vu Tran Phu in Con Pass, Thu Cuc Commune, Tan Son District, Phu Tho Province. There, the police discovered a garden behind the camp, solidly fenced with corrugated iron, with nearly 900 plastic pots used to grow plants. The plants grown here all have characteristics similar to marijuana, some of which have been harvested, leaving only the roots.

Checking the livestock area of the camp, the police force discovered 900 grams of dried buds and flower branches. Preliminary appraisal results from the professional agency determined that all of the above plants were cannabis. Initially, the subjects confessed that the above farm was rented by Vu An, born in 1973, in Di Nau commune, Thach That district, Hanoi from Vu Tran Phu since the end of October 2022 to grow perennial plants, flowers and raise livestock. However, An and his son Vu Dinh Kha later rented Nguyen Dinh Tho in the central area 1, Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district and a number of other subjects to grow cannabis.
Searching An's residence in Doan Ket village, Di Nau commune, Thach That district, Hanoi, the police discovered and seized a number of related evidences such as a drying light system, tree roots, and marijuana leaves.

Through the initial investigation, An admitted to his crime. An said that the farm in Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district has a total area of 2.8 hectares. Around March 2023, An began to sow seeds and grow cannabis on an area of 0.4 hectares of the farm. The harvested cannabis will be transported to Thach That (Hanoi) by bus or motorbike to be dried and packaged for sale on the market.
To avoid detection by authorities, An used corrugated iron to surround the marijuana growing area and built a solid fence system, limiting relatives' contact with surrounding households.
