Growing ginger in sacks, 9X mechanical engineer has high income

With his efforts and desire to learn and innovate to get rich, at the age of 26, he has built a comprehensive farm with an income of 300 million VND per year.

Growing ginger in sacks brings in over 120 million VND in income each year for Mr. Nghia's family.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Nghia shared: In 2012, after graduating from the University of Mining and Geology with a degree in mechanical engineering, Nghia was accepted to work at a company with a fairly stable salary, but with the dream of starting a business on his homeland, Nghia decided to leave the city to return to his hometown to become a farmer.

As the eldest son in a family of four siblings, Nghia was given 13 hectares of hilly forest land by his parents to start a business. Realizing that the market for raw wood was favorable, in 2014, he hired people to work on the land to plant forests. Now, after more than two years, the acacia gardens and cajuput hills have overcome the rocks to grow green and lush, just like the determination of this young man.

To "raise" more than 10 hectares of raw material forest, Mr. Nghia (right) actively develops livestock farming and grows short-term crops.

Nghia said that if only planting forests is not enough, it cannot take full advantage of the land area and cannot get rich. After visiting many places, seeing the model of raising wild pigs for high income, Nghia decided to go to Hanoi to buy piglets to raise. To help the pig herd develop well. After only 1 year with 12 ban bau piglets, it has now grown to 50 pigs for meat each litter. Each year he raises two litters, each litter of 50 pigs for meat. It is calculated that in a year he sells over 100 pigs for meat, bringing in an income of 150-200 million VND.

He is always researching and trying new economic models. Mr. Nghia mixed sand, rice husks, and manure and put them in sacks to plant 3,000 ginger plants. Currently, the ginger is growing well and has produced tubers. It is estimated that each plant will produce 3 kg of tubers with the price of ginger at 40,000 VND/kg. After deducting expenses, he can earn over 120 million VND in profit each year.

With the motto of taking short-term to support long-term, in addition to developing a herd of wild boars and growing ginger in sacks, he also raises 6 cows, 300 super egg chickens and digs 5 sao of pond to raise fish. From this model, after deducting all expenses, each year Mr. Nghia earns from 250-300 million VND.

Developing a comprehensive farm, the 9X engineer has an income of over 300 million VND/year in his hometown.
