Trong Hoang will not recover in time for the match between Vietnam and Thailand.
(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Nguyen Hai Bien of Viettel Club confirmed that Nguyen Trong Hoang needs at least 3 weeks to recover and will be absent from the Vietnam team's match against Thailand in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
“He needs at least 3 weeks to recover and is currently at PVF being cared for by Dr. Choi Ju-young,” Coach Hai Bien shared about Trong Hoang’s injury after the match in round 22 of the V.League on the afternoon of August 24.
In this match, the home team Hai Phong won all 3 points after a 2-1 victory, thereby reclaiming the debt of losing 0-2 to the away team Viettel at Hang Day Stadium in the first leg.

Coach Hai Bien believes his team suffered an undeserved defeat, mostly due to the indecisiveness of the midfield, and if Trong Hoang had been present, Viettel's midfield would have been more solid and secure.
The midfielder from Nghe An suffered a torn left thigh muscle injury in the 21st round of V.League in the match against Saigon FC. Although coach Park Hang-seo named him in the Vietnam national team, Hoang "Bồ" will definitely not recover in time for the opening match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Thailand away on September 5.
Right after the match, some other Viettel players such as Que Ngoc Hai,Bui Tien Dung and Hoang Duc will join the Vietnamese national team to prepare for the opening match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
