Mr. Vu Ho, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, shared that throughout his life, his father left behind an extremely valuable legacy, which is "an example of Humanity, Justice, Propriety, Wisdom, Trust, and Courage".
The memorial service for former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan will take place at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon (June 27) at the National Funeral House No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. Attending the memorial service were leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Moved to read the eulogy for former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai - Head of the Funeral Committee reviewed the life and work of the former Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said that since January 2008, although he retired, Mr. Vu Khoan has always been concerned about the country's situation and has made many enthusiastic, profound, responsible, and frank comments to the Party, State, many ministries, branches, localities, and young people.
In addition, former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan is also a teacher and senior brother who always cares for, guides and mentors many generations of officials to grow up, and has many outstanding contributions in theoretical research, training and teaching. "VK classes (Vu Khoan classes) have become a brand, especially in the diplomatic sector," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan "had an exemplary outlook on life, was virtuous and talented, always worried and strived wholeheartedly for the interests of the nation and people, always for the common good, something greater than the demands of ordinary material life".

As a senior leader of the Party, the former Deputy Prime Minister always devoted all his intelligence and enthusiasm, contributing many important opinions to major issues of the country, especially in the fields of diplomacy, trade and international cooperation.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan is an excellent diplomat, full of courage, a profound researcher and theorist, with a broad vision, dialectical thinking, scientific working methods, and an understanding of the laws of motion of the times.
In discussions, he always turns complex things into simple, easy-to-understand things. In foreign policy planning, he always adheres to the independent and self-reliant line, flexibly applying policies, protecting national interests...


As Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Trade and then Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Vu Khoan made many important contributions, advising and directly implementing the process of lifting the siege and embargo, proactively and actively integrating internationally.
He is also a shining example of self-study, continuous learning, lifelong learning. On the foundation of inheriting the diplomatic art of his father, the Ho Chi Minh school of diplomacy, Mr. Vu Khoan has contributed to planning and organizing the implementation of policies, building and developing the country, especially in foreign affairs, leaving behind many good lessons and valuable experiences.


"He is a sincere, friendly, humble, sociable, sharing, and simple colleague. In the family, he is an exemplary, virtuous husband, father, and grandfather, full of sacrifice and compassion.
"At 87 years old and more than 68 years of revolutionary activities, comrade Vu Khoan devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation," said Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his condolences. Former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan has passed away, but his image and contributions will forever be imprinted in the hearts of his colleagues, friends, cadres, party members and the people.

At the funeral, the family representative, Mr. Vu Ho (eldest son) thanked the Party and State leaders; leaders of central agencies, local leaders, comrades, friends at home and abroad, and relatives who came to pay their condolences and send Mr. Vu Khoan to his final resting place.
Mr. Vu Ho shared that his father - former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, besides his contributions to the country, the people, and the Party's cause, he left with simple baggage and qualities like many others, but also left behind an extremely valuable legacy. That is "an example of Humanity, Justice, Courtesy, Wisdom, Trust, and Courage", all 6 of which were clearly demonstrated in every step of his life.
From the perspective of a son, Mr. Vu Ho said that his "kindness" for his children, grandchildren, brothers, and relatives is boundless; his "loyalty" has accompanied his wife (Mrs. Ho The Lan) for over 60 years; his "courtesy" is for his friends, colleagues, and comrades; in the last years of his life, his "wisdom" was devoted to work, his "trust" was for everyone, from the beliefs and ideals he pursued throughout his life. Finally, his "courage" is never to back down in the face of difficulties, challenges, and hardships.
At the end of the funeral, leaders and former leaders of the Party and State and relatives walked around the coffin of former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan to say goodbye to him for the last time.







At the Government Guest House (Le Thach), nearly 50 Ambassadors, Heads of diplomatic missions, and international organizations in Vietnam came to pay their respects and write in the condolence book. Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko affirmed that former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan made great contributions to promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Chief Representative of the OIF Office for the Asia-Pacific region Edgar Doerig emphasized that former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan not only made tireless contributions to the development of Vietnam but also contributed to "nurturing relationships" between Vietnam and other countries. US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper wrote in the condolence book: The US Government and people will not forget the contributions of the former Deputy Prime Minister in strengthening the friendship and partnership between the two countries. Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio emphasized that the Government and people of Japan expressed their deepest gratitude to the former Deputy Prime Minister for his great contributions throughout his life to the Japan-Vietnam relationship.
