Karate referee Nghe An elected Vice President of Southeast Asian Karate Referee Council
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first time Nghe An martial arts has been honored to be appointed by the Asian and Southeast Asian Arbitration Council to hold the position of Vice President of the Southeast Asian Karate Arbitration Council.
On May 19, the Asian and Southeast Asian Referees Council decided to appoint coach and national referee of Karate - Nguyen Anh Tuan, as Vice President of the Southeast Asian Karate Referees Council.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan was born in 1974. At the age of 17, he joined Nghe An Sports Training Center. After 8 years as an athlete of the center, he has brought many high achievements to the province's sports. These include the Gold Medal at the Harashiha International Karate Tournament, Silver Medal at the Australian Karate Championship, Gold Medal at the National Karate Cup...
Also in his career, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan has been awarded Certificates of Merit by Nghe An Provincial People's Committee 6 times, awarded Certificate of Merit by Lao Government once; many Certificates of Merit from General Department of Sports and Physical Training and Vinh City People's Committee.

After ending his athletic career in 1998, Mr. Tuan became a coach for grassroots classes and joined the Vietnam Karate Referee Association.
He is currently an Asian referee, Oceania referee and World Karate referee.
During his career as a referee, he has officiated at many major tournaments in the region and around the world. These include: 6 SEA Games, 2 Asiad, Australian Championship, Australian Open...
In addition, in Nghe An, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan is the Chairman of Nghe An Karate Association, managing more than 100 clubs across the province, with nearly 10,000 martial arts students.

Recently, he opened a Karate Club, teaching for free at Diec Pagoda with more than 100 students.
After being appointed as Vice President of the Southeast Asian Karate Referee Council, Mr. Tuan shared: "Being appointed by the Southeast Asian Karate Federation today (May 19), on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, has brought me a lot of joy, honor, and pride as a child who grew up in the homeland of the father of the nation. I will try my best to fulfill this great responsibility, worthy of being the representative of Vietnamese Karate to participate in the Southeast Asian Karate Federation."
