According to information, in the near future there may be only 10 teacher training institutions. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the country currently has 13 universities specializing in pedagogy and 61 multidisciplinary universities that provide teacher training.
If including intermediate and college training, the whole country currently has about 100 schools licensed to train teachers.
In fact, in recent years, the number of pedagogical graduates who have not found jobs has increased. The situation of local teacher surplus and shortage still occurs in many places. The Ministry of Education and Training also admits that in recent years, the quality of pedagogical input is generally low, failing to attract excellent students to study pedagogy.
Re-planning teacher training schools is the goal of the Ministry of Education and Training to solve the problem of teacher surplus and shortage. |
To solve this problem, the Ministry of Education and Training said that it has been and will continue to review, arrange and plan teacher training facilities based on standards on quality assurance conditions, to form 10 prestigious central teacher training facilities with sufficient capacity to train teachers.
Other training facilities will convert their operations to become branches or satellites of central schools, focusing on the task of retraining and developing teachers for the entire system.
The entire training program of teacher training colleges will be standardized and used synchronously throughout the system to ensure the quality of teacher training.
Currently, teacher training colleges across the country are still anxiously waiting to see what their "fate" will be.
If the planning of teacher training colleges moves towards having only 10 key teacher training institutions, it will have a significant impact on the staff, lecturers and workers working at local teacher training colleges.
