On an area of ​​more than 2 sao of land, Mr. Hien has planted curly lettuce. Up to now, he has been able to rotate 2 crops of vegetables, with a revenue of 42 million VND. After deducting the cost of vegetable seeds, fertilizers, electricity for watering, and care, he earns a profit of 10 million VND per sao per month. The advantage of this vegetable is that it has almost no pests and requires little care. During the production process, only phosphate fertilizer is used, mixed with manure, fish sauce residue, and lime powder, composting and removing the manure before planting.

Mr. Hien said that he watered 3-4 times a day, and during hot weather, he might have to water twice as many times as usual, so his family invested in an automatic irrigation system with timer functions. The entire system can water an area of ​​5 sao. The irrigation software controlled by mobile phones is now complete, and the timer software has been implemented for a long time, depending on the weather to adjust the number of watering times per day appropriately.

Ms. Hoa, Mr. Hien's wife, said: "In general, this vegetable has just been planted, but the economic value is the highest compared to the types that the family has grown before, such as sweet cabbage, carrots, chayote... Especially at the beginning of the year, when the prices of vegetables drop, curly lettuce is still sold for 12,000 VND/kg. This vegetable secretes a resin similar to antibiotics, so it does not have any pests or diseases, and does not use any drugs or chemicals."

Curly lettuce is a vegetable variety originating from Korea, used to make salads, rolls, etc. This type of vegetable is grown a lot in Da Lat, after 1 month of planting, it is ready to harvest. This is the first year that curly lettuce has been brought back to grow in Hoang Mai land by people, if cultivated well, it can reach a yield of 1.5 tons/sao.With the current field price of 8,000 VND/kg, after 1 month of care, each sao gives a net profit of more than 10 million VND.

Curly lettuce is a picky vegetable, mainly used in large restaurants, supermarket chains such as Muong Thanh, Vincom and Korean restaurant chains.
