Trump pledges to stand with Japan after North Korea missile launch

President Donald Trump declared that the US will support its ally Japan 100% in a joint statement with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe just released.

"I want everyone to understand and know that the United States stands behind Japan, our great ally, 100%," Reuters quoted Mr. Trump in a statement released late on February 11, US time, after North Korea was detected testing a ballistic missile.

The US President made no further comments.

Meanwhile, at a joint press conference the same day, Prime Minister Abe condemned North Korea's actions as "completely unacceptable".

The US president and Japanese prime minister are vacationing at Trump's villa in Florida. The two leaders and their wives just had their last dinner together before Mr. Abe ends his visit to the US on February 12.
