Pakistani militant group claims responsibility for attack on Chinese consulate

At least three gunmen drove a car loaded with explosives outside the Chinese consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, on the morning of November 23. The three suspects then left the car and tried to enter the visa area inside the consulate, but were stopped by security forces outside, according toAry News.
Pakistani snipers and police at a checkpoint outside the consulate exchanged fire with the suspects, forcing them to flee. Two police officers were killed in the gunfight, and three attackers were killed shortly afterwards. Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said all 21 Chinese staff at the consulate were unharmed in the attack and had been evacuated to a safe location. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that it had received information from multiple sources that the US was training Islamist militants in southeastern Syria. "In fact, under the pretext of fighting the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) and containing Iran, the US has established a large military base in the strategic area bordering Syria, Iraq and Jordan, near the highway connecting Baghdad and Damascus. Many witnesses said that training of militants is taking place at this al-Tanf base,"TASSNovember 22 quoted a statement by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
The Pentagon has not commented on Ms. Zakharova’s accusations. The US has controlled and established a military base in al-Tanf, about 15 miles from the Iraqi and Jordanian borders, since early 2016 to train the New Syrian Army (NSA) to fight IS. Although IS has been largely defeated in Iraq and Syria, the US maintains a military presence at the base.
Türkiye charges 28 people in connection with the murder of Russian ambassador

A Turkish prosecutor on November 23 charged 28 suspects, including U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara has long accused of masterminding a failed coup in 2016, with the murder of the Russian ambassador that same year. The prosecutor is considering recommending sentences for the group, including life in prison.
In December 2016, Russian Ambassador to Türkiye Andrei Karlov was shot dead by a Turkish police officer while he was speaking at a photo exhibition in the Turkish capital Ankara. The police officer was later killed.

The world will not be able to make any important decisions on issues related to Libya, Syria and the entire Mediterranean region without Russia's participation, Vice President of the European Parliament Fabio Massimo Castaldo said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 4th Mediterranean Dialogue held from November 22-24 in Rome, Italy, Mr. Castaldo said that over the years, Russia has demonstrated its leading role in solving the problems of the Mediterranean region. Countries should not consider Russia as part of some problems, but Russia as part of the solution to those problems. Vice President of the European Parliament Castaldo also believes that the development of EU-Russia relations will promote future progress in many areas, including security.

Indonesia plane crash victims identified

Mr. Arthur Tampi, the head of the Indonesian National Police's medical center, said that as of November 23, after DNA testing of all body parts found in the tragic Lion Air plane crash, Indonesian authorities had identified 125 people (including 89 men and 36 women). There were two foreigners, Italian and Indian citizens.
The Boeing 737-MAX 8, flight number JT 610, carrying 189 people on a domestic flight on October 29 from the capital Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang, lost contact with air traffic control just 13 minutes after takeoff. Data showed that the plane crashed into the sea from an altitude of more than 1,000m, at a speed of 640km/h, killing all 189 passengers and crew.

At 11pm on Thanksgiving Day, customers were still bustling in and out of the Riverchase Galleria shopping center in Hoover, Alabama, USA, when suddenly they heard a deafening gunshot. People were panicked and left their belongings and ran away from the scene, while the shooter continued to shoot randomly.
According to police, the incident stemmed from an argument between two teenagers. As a result, one of the two was seriously injured while the other was shot and killed by police as he tried to flee the scene. Another 12-year-old girl was also injured in the incident.
