A giant mural in downtown Hodeidah shows a cow with the head of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman, while US President Donald Trump tugs on its udder to fill gold buckets with dollar signs.
According toCNN, the graphic shows how people in northern Yemen view America's role in the war that has devastated their country for exactly four years.
English professor Abdel al Montasser agrees with the message in the painting. He says US leaders are "thinking about their own interests".
"Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries are rich countries. So America wants to milk them, just like Trump," he commented.
The United States is Saudi Arabia’s largest arms supplier. The jets, bombs dropped, as well as the tanks, artillery and vehicles used by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which lead the coalition against the Iran-backed Houthi movement, are largely made in the United States.
At a protest marking the four-year anniversary of the war on March 26, protesters chanted "Down with America" and "Down with Israel."
Hundreds of protesters lined up neatly along the lines to create the impression of a larger crowd.
Yemen is one of the world’s poorest countries, plagued by tribal and religious conflict. The southern region, part of the coalition fighting the Houthis, is also fighting al-Qaeda.
The World Food Programme says 10 million Yemenis are “one step away from famine”. But they have shown remarkable resilience while Saudi Arabia and its allies continue their proxy war with Iran.
