For the first time, a large number of anchovies were caught in one day by a fleet. This is a great joy in the first days of the year, helping fishermen earn a large income right after Tet.

Anchovy season starts in February, the weather is favorable, sunny, sea waves are light, so the amount of anchovies caught is large.

Anchovies belong to the anchovy family, living mainly in saltwater, some species are distributed in fresh water and brackish estuary waters. The fish are less than 15 cm long, swim in schools, and eat organisms and phytoplankton. This type can be made into fish sauce, dried, and processed into many dishes such as braised, fried, cooked with pineapple or giang leaves... so the selling price is quite high.

Anchovies sold at the wharf cost 12,000 VND/kg, the ship owner earned over 300 million VND.
