China appoints key personnel after 19th Congress
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has just appointed leadership positions in a number of important agencies as well as in major cities of the country.
Previously, at the first meeting of the 19th Central Committee on October 25, Mr. Zhao Leji, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, was appointed Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (China), replacing Mr. Wang Qishan.

Guo Shengkun, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Secretariat, and former Minister of Public Security of China, was appointed Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission. This is the agency that directs and manages at the macro level the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of State Security - the main forces that maintain political and social stability in the world's most populous country of the Communist Party of China.
The person replacing Mr. Guo Shengkun as Minister of Public Security will most likely be Mr. Zhao Kezhi, former Secretary of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee, who was recently appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security.
Mr. Dinh Tiet Tuong, Politburo member, Secretary of the Secretariat, former Deputy Head of the Party Central Office and Head of the President's Office, was appointed by the Ministry to hold the position of Head of the Party Central Office to replace Mr. Lat Chien Thu, who was recently elected as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and will hold other important responsibilities.
Mr. Li Qiang, Politburo member and former Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, was appointed Secretary of the Shanghai Party Committee, replacing Mr. Han Zheng, who was recently elected as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee after the 19th Congress./.
