The Deputy Prime Minister sympathized and shared the damage caused by the Covid-19 epidemic to China, expressing his belief that China will control the epidemic well. The Deputy Prime Minister also said that Vietnam has achieved some positive results in fighting the epidemic, which have been highly appreciated by the WHO. Vietnam has recorded 16 cases of nCoV infection, 14 of whom have recovered.

The Foreign Minister suggested that China continue to apply measures to improve Vietnam's trade deficit, including facilitating the import of Vietnamese goods, especially agricultural products, into the Chinese market. He also suggested that the two sides thoroughly resolve problems in a number of cooperation projects, especially the Hanoi urban railway project, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that regarding maritime issues, both sides need to make efforts to find a satisfactory solution to the problem, affirming that Vietnam will continue to coordinate with China and other countries to seek measures to maintain peace, security and stability in the East Sea.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi thanked Vietnam for its support and suggested that Vietnam soon resume travel for Chinese citizens to Vietnam. He stressed that China does not pursue a trade deficit and is willing to increase imports of Vietnamese products. The Foreign Minister said that he will actively coordinate to resolve existing problems in cooperation projects between the two countries.

The Covid-19 epidemic has spread to 28 countries and territories, infecting more than 75,000 people and killing 2,010, mostly in the epicenter of Hubei. On February 10, Vietnam sent a shipment of aid worth 500,000 USD to Wuhan city, including ventilators, disinfectant suits, gloves and medical masks.
