"If the US imposes additional tariffs, the Chinese side may not participate in negotiations with a pistol pointed at its head," a source said.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal cited its sources and said that US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin had sent an invitation to Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi Liu to attend a new round of negotiations on trade conflicts after September 20. China confirmed that it had received the invitation.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen is tasked with leading the Chinese delegation in the next round of negotiations. Then, on September 27-28, Mr. Hesam Liu will go to Washington.
