China announces casualty figures in Yunnan earthquake.
According to THX, local authorities said at least one person was confirmed dead and three injured after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake shook southwestern China on the evening of October 7.
The casualties occurred in Yongping town, Jinggu county, Yunnan province, which is only 5 km from the epicenter.

According to county officials, the earthquake occurred at 9:49 PM (Beijing time) with its epicenter at a depth of only 5 kilometers. The earthquake shook Jinggu Yi Autonomous County, home to 290,000 people. A first-line professional rescue team of 230 personnel was urgently dispatched to the earthquake site.
