China produces world's largest seaplane
The AG600 amphibious aircraft, which China calls the world's largest aircraft, has successfully undergone its first runway test, Xinhua News Agency reported on April 29.

The test was held in Zhuhai (Guangdong). During the test, the aircraft's braking system, ability to run in a straight line and adjust the direction were tested. In addition, the aircraft was able to turn 180 degrees on the runway. It is known that the systems worked well.
China plans to conduct the first test flights of the AG600, which is designed to extinguish fires, in mid-May, but did not give a specific date. The first ground test flight will be held in May, and the first water test flight will be held in late 2017.
The aircraft is equipped with four turbofan engines, capable of sucking up 12 tons of water in 20 seconds. The maximum take-off weight of the AG600 is 53.5 tons, the fuselage length is 39.3 meters, the wingspan is 38.8 meters, and the maximum range is 4,500 km.
