China accuses US, Japan and South Korea of causing trouble with joint military exercises
China's Foreign Ministry has just said that the US-Japan-South Korea military exercise has caused trouble for the country and increased instability in the region.
The two-day joint military exercise between the US, Japan and South Korea, which began on December 11, aims to improve the ability to detect and track missiles from North Korea. However, China has strongly criticized this move.
“This move is part of a cycle of provocation and confrontation. This is absolutely not conducive to peace and stability in the region. If this cycle continues, it will lead to a bad outcome that is not beneficial to either side,” said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Meanwhile, according to AFP, the military exercise of the three allies, the US, Japan and South Korea, is putting pressure on Beijing as Washington deploys the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system.
Beijing is concerned that the powerful radar system could penetrate deep into Chinese territory, affecting national security. Also in this joint exercise, four Aegis destroyers from the three navies were deployed to participate.
In addition, the International Business Times said China also called on the US to reduce military activities to avoid "provoking" North Korea.
In another development, the New York Times reported that China is building refugee camps along the North Korean border that can accommodate thousands of people in case tensions between Pyongyang and Washington peak.

China is planning to build five shelters for North Korean refugees in Changbai County, Jilin Province, according to a source. All of this information was reportedly provided by the Changbai branch of China Mobile Communications Corporation.
However, according to the New York Times, when asked about the information about the refugee camps, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said he had not received this plan. Meanwhile, a representative of the Changbai County government denied the above information.
