French police are currently under strong public pressure after a police officer was accused of assaulting and sexually assaulting a young man, named Théo, in February in the city of Aulnay-sous-Bois, a suburb of Paris.

The incident sparked a series of protests. Initially, the protests were peaceful, but some extremists clashed with the police and the situation became chaotic. Many cars were burned, shops and many private properties were vandalized. Police accused hundreds of extremists of acts of violence and vandalism./.
