China and North Korea begin talks in Beijing.
AP reported that North Korea's chief negotiator arrived at the Chinese Foreign Ministry headquarters on June 19 to participate in strategic talks after relations between the two communist allies soured and following North Korea's surprise proposal for dialogue with the US last weekend.

North Korea's First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan is expected to discuss bilateral relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula with China's Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ye Sui.
China hopes these discussions will lead to the resumption of the six-party talks on nuclear disarmament.
