China refuses to negotiate with the US after Trump's statement?
China is considering canceling trade talks with the United States because of US leader Donald Trump's recent threat to increase tariffs on a range of Chinese goods, The Wall Street Journal commented.

As noted above, Beijing was surprised by the US President's statement and has no intention of negotiating under pressure.
The most recent round of trade talks between the two countries took place on April 30, with the next round scheduled for May 8 and expected to be held in Washington.
Previously, Trump announced that from May 10, he would increase taxes on a series of Chinese goods from 10% to 25%.
The US administration announced that trade negotiations with China are "at the finish line". At the same time, CNBC quoted sources as saying that Washington and Beijing could announce the signing of a trade deal on May 10.
