According to Hu, to deal with stealth aircraft that are fast and equipped with advanced stealth technology, China has developed a new generation of anti-stealth radar and has demonstrated its combat capabilities in practice. Hu's statement came as the US has deployed many F-35 stealth fighters to Japan and will continue to send more of these stealth fighters to the Asia-Pacific region in the future.

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation in November 2016 displayed the YLC-8B anti-stealth aircraft radar developed by the 14th Research Institute at the Zhuhai Airshow in Guangdong Province.

"China's anti-stealth radar can detect all types of stealth aircraft deployed by the US in the Asia-Pacific region, including the F-22, F-35 and B-2. This means that if the US wants to use stealth aircraft to challenge China, it must be careful with these radar systems because the aircraft can be detected and shot down in real combat," said Song Zhongping, a military expert and commentator on Phoenix TV.

In addition to the anti-stealth radar, Hu said China has also successfully developed a long-range early warning phased array radar, becoming the third country, after Russia and the United States, to have the ability to independently deploy this type of radar. "This is the foundation for China's missile early warning system."

According to Song, this type of radar can help China detect strategic threats such as ballistic missiles and have enough time for the system to intercept the missile.
