"We are always concerned about the safety and prosperity of every single one of our compatriots around the world. The Chinese side will not sit idly by and watch indifferently as harassment of Chinese citizens and violations of their legitimate rights are perpetrated," Wang Yi said, stressing that China will protect the rights and interests of its citizens abroad by all means.
The above statement of the Chinese Foreign Minister was made amid the scandal surrounding the arrest of Huawei's Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Meng Wanzhou in Canada, at the request of the United States.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has protested against both Canada and the US. Ms. Meng Wanzhou asserted that she was innocent and pledged to appeal in a US court if a decision is made to extradite her to the US./.
