Nghe An Energy Saving Center installs school lighting system
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to bring standard and safe light to each classroom, contributing to protecting students' eyesight, the Energy Saving Center, Department of Industry and Trade has deployed the installation of standard lighting models in classrooms of a number of schools in the province.
Before installation,Energy Saving Centerconducted a test on the lighting intensity, illuminance, and glare of the light in the classroom; use of equipment, installation and layout of the lighting system; color of desks, chairs, floors, walls, and classroom windows; rate of students with eye problems in the school...
The survey results show that: The classrooms have a structure of space, area, windows, paint color and natural lighting that mostly meet the regulations. However, some schools, especially in rural and mountainous areas, have been built for a long time and are degraded, with stained walls and trees covering the windows, limiting natural light. Some schools in rural and mountainous areas do not have functional rooms, have narrow playgrounds, and trees block the light from the classrooms. Some schools do not have enough shade, causing glare. Most classrooms have lighting systems installed on ceiling fans, so in the summer when using ceiling fans, when the fan rotates, it will divide the light, causing eye strain. Some schools in rural and mountainous areas have degraded wiring systems and electrical panels that are unsafe.

Most of the light bulbs currently used in schools are Compact and Fluorescent, some schools are using incandescent bulbs, each classroom is only equipped with 4-6 bulbs. Some schools in Vinh city have used LED lights.
Light requirements ofMinistry of Healthfor classrooms should not be less than 300 Lux. Survey results show: The rate of students with average eye problems increases with each grade level.
Faced with that reality, we have replaced and installed 1-2 classroom model rooms in each school that meet the standard lighting and save energy in Vinh City and districts and towns in the province. Based on the design of the school lighting model, the Center coordinates with the school and the construction consultant to organize the installation of a lighting system in the classroom that meets the standards for school lighting as prescribed and also has the meaning of converting to high-efficiency energy-using equipment.

From the modelstandard lightAccording to regulations, no glare on the board, protect eyesight and contribute to reducing scoliosis for students that the Energy Saving Center, Department of Industry and Trade has built, schools organize to replicate in the form of socialization. The classrooms are designed neatly, illuminance ensures 300lx, light distribution is even in the classroom, the darkest place is not less than 60% of 300lx. Use LED lights with durability equal to or higher than T8 fluorescent bulbs.
In 2020, the Center installed 48 school lighting models. It is expected that these models will be replicated in the following years so that students can receive standard lighting sources, contributing to improving learning efficiency.
From March to August 2020, a number of schools built school lighting models: Ha Huy Tap 1 Primary School, Nghi An Primary School, Ethnic Boarding School 2, Secondary School, Nghi Lien Primary School, Hung Chinh Secondary School (Vinh City); Nghi Huong Secondary School (Cua Lo Town); Hung Dao Primary School (Hung Nguyen District); Hoang Mai Town Primary and Secondary Schools (Hoang Mai Town), Thanh Lien Secondary School (Thanh Chuong District); Anh Son Secondary School (Anh Son District); Tra Lan Secondary School (Con Cuong District); Thach Giam 1 Town Primary School (Tuong Duong District).
