Previously, through monitoring and discovering a number of subjects frequently crossing the border to buy, sell and exchange drugs, Que Phong district police decided to establish project 816.H.

Leaders of Que Phong District People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit and a reward of 10 million VND to the project.

It was determined that at around 3:00 p.m. on September 16, in the border area of ​​Muong Phu village, Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district, the above subjects would transport and exchange drugs. The task force ambushed to catch this group of subjects red-handed. During the arrest, one subject used an AK gun to fight back, causing Lieutenant Le Van Tuan - a member of the district police's drug crime squad to be hit by two bullets.

Despite being injured, Lieutenant Le Van Tuan still tried to knock down one subject and together with the soldiers of the task force, arrested three subjects (including two Laotians and one Vietnamese), confiscating 20 heroin bars and 12,000 synthetic drug pills. The subject who shot and seriously injured Lieutenant Tuan escaped across the border to Laos. Currently, Que Phong District Police are coordinating with Lao authorities to arrest this subject.

As soon as he received the information, on the evening of September 16, comrade Le Van Giap - Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee went to Viet Duc Hospital, Hanoi to visit and encourage Lieutenant Le Van Tuan, and gave 5 million VND to support his family to take care of him so that he can recover soon.
