Center back Manh Hung writes letter of apology to fans
(Baonghean.vn) - On his personal Facebook page, the 1993-born center back of SLNA expressed his feelings about the decline in performance in recent times.
Pham Manh Hung wrote: “These past few days I have felt very sad and pressured because I have seen many conflicting opinions about my decline in performance. There is sympathy, there is doubt, those are each person's thoughts that I need to respect, but I would like to confirm one thing. From the time I started playing football until now, I have never done anything against my conscience and am completely innocent. I have never been involved in issues such as match-fixing or corruption. If I were not innocent, then I would certainly not be able to continue playing football nor be able to overcome the framework of the law.

With my personal honor, an upright tree is not afraid of death, I can affirm that I have never dared to touch dirty money, I live on the fruits of my sweat and labor. Whether poor or rich, I am confident that the salary I earn is worthy.
Because the team had difficulty in terms of personnel, I was assigned to play in the back position by the coaching board, so I was more or less unable to demonstrate my abilities. I also clearly felt that my performance had declined and there were many reasons that people were not involved in so they could not sympathize with. One of them was the pressure from public opinion after mistakes on the field. In front of the whole team and the coaching board, I always took responsibility and tried to overcome my professional problems. Wherever I went wrong, I was ready to take responsibility.
As a professional player, I am more aware of my duties, responsibilities and future than anyone else. However, due to a few professional mistakes, every time I step onto the field I feel extremely pressured just because of a few words or doubts, many times like that causing my performance to decline for a long time.

Players cannot always reach their maximum performance and football is a team sport, a loss comes from system errors and many weaknesses on the pitch, not just from the defenders. I hope everyone puts themselves in the players' shoes to understand. Football is not as easy as it is said. I am still young and still need more time to learn how to overcome pressure.

Pham Manh Hung is one of SLNA's talents and was soon known as the captain of SLNA U17 team competing in the 2010 National U17 Finals in Chi Lang. Just over a year later, Manh Hung was promoted to the first team and soon won the trust of coach Nguyen Huu Thang, and also secured a starting position in the national team's shirt for a friendly match against Arsenal Club when he turned 20 years old.
