Center back Nguyen Ba Duc on the road to Sea Games 30
(Baonghean.vn) - Discovered from the Nghe An Newspaper Youth Cup, Nguyen Ba Duc is the only SLNA player called up in the preliminary list of coach Park Hang-seo to prepare for the 2019 Sea Games.
Born in 1998, coming from the land with a rich tradition of youth football, Nghi Loc, with an ideal physique, Nguyen Ba Duc caught the eye of SLNA scouts after participating in the TN-ND Cup football tournament of Nghe An Newspaper.
Along with Thai Bao Trung, Tran Tien Anh, Tran Dinh Tien, Ba Duc has had some success in the SLNA youth teams.

Before the 2019 season, Ba Duc and 9 teammates from U21 SLNA were promoted to the first team to get acquainted with the V.League environment and other tournaments. Early training and competition with senior players such as Memovic, Hoang Van Khanh and Pham The Nhat helped the young central defender quickly improve and mature.
This is just the first training session of U23 Vietnam, to prepare for the 30th Sea Games and Nguyen Ba Duc is one of the players called up first. In this first round list, there are still many unfamiliar names to Vietnamese fans and most likely, many new names will be called up at the end of the year.
Ba Duc not only has to compete with Khac Vu (Long An), Ngoc Bao (Pho Hien), Van Dat (HLHT), Van Hanh (Hai Phong), Viet Trieu (Quang Ninh), the players who were called up with him this time, but also Huynh Tan Sinh (Quang Nam), Nguyen Trong Dai (Viettel), Nguyen Thanh Chung (Hanoi) - players who have more or less experience in the national team and will most likely be called up by Coach Park Hang-seo in the next times.

In the SLNA first team, Ba Duc has not played a single minute in the V.League; however, in friendly matches, the central defender from Nghi Loc has been tested a few times. In the recent friendly match to open the Ha Tinh stadium between the home team and SLNA, Nguyen Ba Duc also had a remarkable performance from the bench, scoring a goal to help SLNA take a 2-0 lead before Hong Linh Ha Tinh scored 2 goals to equalize.
Hopefully, as the only name from SLNA to be called up, Ba Duc will try harder to be on the list to attend the 30th Sea Games taking place in the Philippines at the end of the year.
