Mon Son Secondary School has 13 classes with 502 students from 14 villages. The whole school has 472 ethnic minority students, accounting for more than 94%, of which 89 are children of the Dan Lai ethnic group. Of the total number of students, 187 are children of poor households, 218 are children of near-poor households, and 10 are disabled students.
The construction of the dining hall and auxiliary works at Mon Son Secondary School's dormitory started in June 2018 with a total cost of nearly 3 billion VND, of which the Vietnam Gas Corporation sponsored 2.5 billion VND, the remaining cost was matched by the locality and the Vietnam Children's Fund mobilized other sponsors for additional support.

The project has a new construction area of more than 225 m2including: 1 new dining room and hall, 1 kitchen, and auxiliary works. In addition to the new construction, the old 2-storey dormitory and many equipment and auxiliary works were also upgraded...
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha thanked the sponsors for accompanying the Vietnam Children's Fund to implement the project; at the same time, she hoped that the new project would create conditions to improve the quality of teaching at the school and contribute to improving the living, eating and resting conditions of the students.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha also suggested that the school carry out maintenance work well to make the building more spacious and clean; plant more trees and flowers... to both improve the quality of the living environment and educate students about environmental protection.
