Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac presents Tet gifts to poor households in Tuong Duong district

On the morning of January 16, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission visited and presented Tet gifts to policy families and poor households in Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong).

Attending the program, leaders of Nghe An province included comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ho Le Ngoc - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; and Standing member of Tuong Duong District Party Committee.

At the La village resettlement area, Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong), comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission visited and presented Tet gifts to 50 policy families, poor households, and extremely disadvantaged households in the commune.

Luong Minh is a particularly difficult commune of Tuong Duong district with 1,163 households, 5,199 people, and 2 ethnic groups living together: Thai and Kho Mu. The transportation system from the commune center to the villages is complicated and often cut off during the rainy season.

The lives of the people here still face many material and spiritual difficulties. Currently, the whole commune has 567 poor households, accounting for 48.8%; 408 near-poor households, accounting for more than 30%. In 2024, the commune has reduced 69 poor households, reaching 98.6% of the plan.

Implementing the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary, the Party Committee and the authorities of Luong Minh commune have mobilized organizations and individuals to donate 70 gifts worth 35 million VND to meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, and social protection beneficiaries.

Up to now, the commune has given Tet gifts to 567 poor households with a total amount of more than 318.5 million VND; 25 near-poor and extremely disadvantaged households with a total amount of 12.5 million VND and 24 gifts to meritorious people with a total amount of 7.2 million VND.

On this occasion, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung presented 500 million VND to Tuong Duong district to build a livelihood model for poor households in the district.

Sending New Year greetings to the people, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac affirmed that our Party and State always care about poor households, policy households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households, especially during the time of Tet and Spring.

Emphasizing that Tuong Duong district in general and Luong Minh commune in particular still face many difficulties and that people's lives are still lacking, the Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee said that the Vietnam Gas Corporation has been mobilized to support the commune with 1 billion VND to help the poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged families in the commune to have a more complete Tet holiday.

Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac earnestly hopes that, despite many difficulties, people need to share with each other, find suitable livelihoods to escape poverty legitimately, should not commit illegal acts; create conditions for those who have made mistakes to reintegrate into the community to build a more prosperous society.

The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission also requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to pay attention to, care for, and support people with livelihood models so that people can rise up and escape poverty sustainably.
