The Head of the Miss Vietnam Organizing Committee will crown the new Miss.

With the disciplinary decision of the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam contest, the person who will be crowned on the night of August 28 will not be Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen but the Head of the Organizing Committee.

There will be no former beauty queen crowning the new beauty queen, like in the 2012 contest.

On August 5, the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam 2016 contest issued a statement: Stop using Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen's image, and do not invite her to accompany her to the final round of Miss Vietnam 2016. This decision came after more than 3 weeks of verifying and handling the incident related to the reigning beauty queen's scandal.

In mid-July, the Northern finals had just begun when rumors of Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen smoking in public and being drunk in a bar, among other things, spread. A week later, a multi-member panel was formed to evaluate the incident.

On August 5, the council held its final meeting and concluded that Miss Ky Duyen smoking in public and gathering with friends in inappropriate surroundings were behaviors unbecoming of the title of Miss Vietnam. Negatively affecting the image of Miss Vietnam and the Miss Vietnam pageant.

The Council came to the decision: 1/ Reprimand Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen; Request to correct behavior and lifestyle, actively improve public image. 2/ Request the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2016 not to use the image and not let Ky Duyen accompany the next events of the contest.

With this decision, all representative images and promotional photos for the Miss Vietnam 2016 contest that feature Ky Duyen will be removed, and not only that. In addition, Ky Duyen will not be invited to crown the new beauty queen on the night of August 28 at Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC), but the Head of the Organizing Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Le Xuan Son will personally do this./.
