Dear leaders of Central ministries and branches!
Dear veteran journalists and distinguished guests!
Dear comrades!
Today, I am very pleased to attend the meeting and honoring program for outstanding journalists on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
On behalf of the leadership of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and with my personal feelings, I respectfully send to the delegates my warmest greetings and congratulations. I wish the leaders, veteran journalists, outstanding journalists and delegates good health, happiness and success.
Dear comrades!
On June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien Newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue - opening the way for Vietnam's revolutionary press. Since its inception, the newspaper has had a special propaganda mission, as a theoretical and ideological preparation for the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as a guiding torch, fanning the flames of revolution, and awakening the masses to rise up and fight.
During the two resistance wars against France and the US, the press was the voice of the frontline and the rear. Newspapers such as Cuu Quoc, Quan Doi Nhan Dan, Giai Phong... were printed right at the front, under the rain of bombs and bullets, to the hands of soldiers. More than 500 journalists sacrificed their lives for the noble ideal, their blood mixed with the motherland, into the flow of national history. That dedication and sacrifice will forever be the shining symbol of the revolutionary journalist.

Entering the period of Renovation, promoting glorious traditions, upholding the ideological flag, the press continues to play a leading role, reflecting the aspirations for change and the spirit of reform throughout society. Many journalists have not been afraid of difficulties, hardships, and dangers; overcome all temptations and pitfalls... to bring voices from reality to authorities at all levels, policy-making and implementation agencies. Not only performing the role of criticism, the press is also a "sower of hope". Examples of good people and good deeds, new rural models, educational reform initiatives, health care, innovative businesses,... are introduced, encouraged, and replicated, thereby, the press creates motivation, transmits and spreads inspiration for action throughout society.
The achievements and results of Vietnam's revolutionary press have important contributions from the team of journalists across the country through the periods. And the journalists present here today are typical representatives of the generation of revolutionary journalists, truly journalist-soldiers on the ideological-cultural front of the Party.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee, the selection of outstanding journalists was conducted systematically and scientifically with public and transparent principles and criteria. The individuals honored today have affirmed their mettle, intelligence, enthusiasm and responsibility towards the country, the nation, the Party, the State, and especially the People. This is not only an honor for each individual journalist but also a recognition and praise from the Party and the State for press agencies and journalists nationwide; it is a testament to the growth and development of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
During the historic days of June, we respectfully commemorate President Ho Chi Minh - the great journalist and teacher of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism; deeply grateful to generations of journalists who have devoted their talents, intelligence, dignity, and even their blood to protect and build the country; commend and congratulate the outstanding journalists and journalists present at today's meaningful program. And through you, comrades, we would like to express our most sincere and profound thanks to journalists across the country - the vanguard and vanguard force in the Party's ideological and cultural work.

Dear comrades!
100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh used the press to ignite the revolution, and today, the press must continue its mission of building social trust and fanning the desire for prosperity. In a volatile era, when information becomes a sharp weapon, revolutionary journalism must have the courage to lead ideology, orient public opinion, and maintain its foundation. This is not only a professional requirement, but also a command of the times.
Vietnam is entering an important transition period - a "new era" that requires strategic vision, political courage and broad consensus throughout society. To realize the aspiration of becoming a developed country, we need to urgently and effectively implement the four Resolutions of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs and digital transformation; on private economic development; on innovation in law-making and enforcement and international integration in the new situation. All four pillars are directly related to Vietnam's future in the new era. In this process, the press is not only a voice of reflection or propaganda, but also a catalyst, a guiding pen, becoming a creative subject, a creative force to promote the implementation of the "four pillars" effectively and firmly.
In line with the general trend, the press is also merging in a streamlined direction, aiming to become key press agencies, stronger, faster, more effective. It is necessary to restructure the press system in the direction of key - professional - effective. We need a team of journalists who are streamlined but elite, have solid expertise, are brave, maintain ethics, uphold the spirit of humanity, protect justice and reason. I hope that the team of revolutionary journalists will constantly practice and study the ideology, ethics and style of President Ho Chi Minh - the teacher who founded the Vietnamese revolutionary press. To do that, I suggest that revolutionary journalists need to fulfill the following requirements:
One is,Vietnamese revolutionary journalists need to be imbued with and more deeply aware of the role, position, function and mission of revolutionary journalism. We must see that the Vietnamese revolutionary journalism founded by President Ho Chi Minh is an important part of the Party's ideological and cultural work, with a noble mission to join the entire Party and people in successfully carrying out the cause of striving for prosperity, strength, "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization". In the current situation, thoroughly understanding and raising awareness of the role, function, task and nature of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism helps us journalists to be steadfast and courageous in the face of all challenges; to promote the role of leading and orienting public opinion; to create journalistic works that closely follow the breath of life, are rich in humanity and have the power to spread in social life, and are welcomed by the people.
Second,The press needs to continue to proactively and creatively deploy information and propaganda work on important political, economic, social, defense, security tasks of the country, such as: Innovation in the organization of the political system "streamlined - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective"; Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)... Propaganda content must both ensure comprehensive requirements and have focus and key points, in which propaganda work needs to be one step ahead; propaganda plans must be methodical, focusing on effectiveness. The press also needs to be alert and cautious in handling information, especially politically sensitive, blocking and filtering bad and toxic information that causes interference and negatively affects people's awareness and public opinion.
Third,In recent years, we have witnessed the strong development as well as the impact, both positive and negative, of social networks and other forms of media on the Internet. In the coming period, social networks and new forms of media will certainly continue to explode, further increasing their influence on society and competing more fiercely with the press in terms of information, finance, human resources and readers. To continue to affirm its position, dominate the information battlefield and maintain its function of guiding public opinion, the press, led by revolutionary journalism, needs to innovate, create, improve the quality, attractiveness and effectiveness of information. To do so, each journalist must constantly strive, constantly cultivate and innovate in journalistic thinking and working methods to bring readers accurate, fast, vivid and attractive information and interpretations.

Dear comrades!
After this meaningful meeting, I hope that, with a sense of responsibility and determination, each journalist here will continue to light the fire, spread and pass on the noble mission of revolutionary journalists, firmly bringing the "ship" of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism with the whole nation into a new era - an era of wealth, civilization, prosperity and national growth.
On behalf of the leadership of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, once again, I would like to send to veteran journalists, representative journalists and through you, to the entire team of journalists nationwide, my best wishes. I wish you good health, happiness, success, and continued important contributions to the glorious revolutionary journalism career.
Thank you very much!
