Vietnam - Korea Technical College: Focus on improving the capacity of teaching staff
(Baonghean) - For many years now, the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College has always paid attention to teacher training. This is also the "key" to the school's success, contributing significantly to improving the quality of training.
Up to now, after more than 15 years of working at the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College, teacher Nguyen Thanh Vinh - Lecturer of the Faculty of Electronics still believes in the path he has chosen. Here, he has the opportunity to develop his abilities and strengths.
Nguyen Thanh Vinh started studying at the Vietnam - Korea Technical College in 2000. At that time, the fact that a good student did not choose a university but instead chose a "vocational school" made many people suspicious.
However, Nguyen Thanh Vinh decided that going to vocational school would shorten his study time, make it easier to get a job, and help his parents soon. Two years of hard work with hard internship hours resulted in an excellent graduation certificate. At the end of the course, he was one of two excellent students retained by the school as a teaching assistant.
From his teaching experience at school, Nguyen Thanh Vinh realized the limitations of both his experience and his knowledge. He continued to study for the exam and became a student of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications - Hanoi University of Science and Technology and continued to study for a master's degree in Control and Automation Engineering...
During his studies, Nguyen Thanh Vinh always received encouragement and support from the school so that he could continuously strive to learn. Since then, working as a teacher for nearly 10 years, he has twice won the Second and Third prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Award with the projects "Design and assembly of OP-APM experimental set", "Design and assembly of single-phase automatic inverter".
In addition, he has also achieved the title of Excellent Teacher at the provincial and national levels, and has been awarded many Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee. He also participated in writing textbooks for a number of subjects: Electronic Circuit Engineering, Sensors, Digital Engineering... and a number of textbooks to improve teachers' professional skills. Sharing about his current job, he said: "The Electronics industry is an industry that is always updating new knowledge. Therefore, being given the opportunity to study and improve our qualifications helps us to be more confident in our work and to have many innovations and creativity in teaching."
In recent years, the Board of Directors of the Vietnam - Korea Technical College has always focused on training and fostering teachers, especially training and fostering teachers with doctoral and master's degrees, transferring technology, and updating knowledge. Currently, according to statistics, among the nearly 180 staff and teachers of the school, there is 1 person with a doctoral degree, 2 people are postgraduates, 96 people are masters and more than 50 people have university degrees.
Many teachers were sent to study abroad in countries such as Malaysia, Australia, and Korea and were granted vocational training certificates according to international standards. In 2016 alone, the school sent more than 131 staff members to study and improve their professional qualifications at home and abroad.
In particular, focusing on improving the level of science and technology (knowledge level, vocational skills, information technology, foreign languages, access to new technology), professional level, pedagogical skills and training personality to become a teacher, fostering and improving political awareness; organizing English and IC3 IT exams according to international standards and organizing national vocational skills assessment for teachers.

At the same time, the school also welcomed many foreign vocational survey experts from Germany, Korea... to evaluate the effectiveness of its activities. Through these "exchange" trips, not only did the school's staff and teachers improve their skills, gradually meeting international vocational training standards, but it was also an opportunity for teachers to learn, exchange experiences and improve their practical skills.
During the operation, the school's board of directors simultaneously implements solutions to improve the quality of training such as actively innovating teaching methods, promoting the initiative of teachers, students and pupils in learning and training in a direction that is linked to social needs, meeting the needs of highly qualified human resources for production and business units. The training inspection department regularly inspects and supervises the implementation of training programs and plans, teaching and learning, to ensure regulations, rules, and rectify teaching work; and collects students' opinions and suggestions for teachers and the school.
The school's efforts have brought results when for many consecutive years, the school's teachers have participated in provincial and national competitions for excellent teachers and won high prizes. At the same time, there are many teachers whose students have won high prizes in provincial, national, regional and international competitions for excellent skills such as teacher Pham Van Viet, teacher Le Minh Hoang... Particularly, teacher Pham Anh Dung - Welding Department has taken students to provincial competitions for excellent skills 7 times, and all 7 times his students have won first prize. In addition, there are 3 students who won first, second and third prizes for national skills, 1 student won the Asean Silver Medal and the world's certificate of excellent skills.
In addition to teaching, the school's teachers also enthusiastically participate in mass activities such as blood donation day, traditional cross-country running, women's football tournament... These activities not only help teachers improve their health but also create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, motivating teachers to strive to complete their professional and task tasks.
Sharing about the results achieved, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Duy Nam - Principal of the school shared: “For many years, the school has used work efficiency as a measure to evaluate the capacity and qualifications of teachers. This requires each teacher to be conscious of making continuous efforts to improve their professional qualifications. The school also identifies that investing in human resources is also an important factor in building a high-quality vocational school. Therefore, in the coming time, we will continue to build a mechanism to motivate and encourage teachers to study to improve their qualifications; carry out well the work of emulation, rewards, handling violations and improving the quality and efficiency of work”.
