Vinh University celebrates its 65th anniversary.
On the morning of November 16th, Vinh University held a ceremony to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day and the 65th anniversary of the university's founding (1959-2024).
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training were Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Quality Management Department; representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; universities nationwide; Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities; representatives from departments, agencies and localities in the province; and generations of staff, teachers, and students, including postgraduate students and researchers of Vinh University.
Vinh University of Education was established in 1959. In 2001, the Prime Minister renamed Vinh University of Education to...Vinh UniversityWith the goal of multidisciplinary training, Vinh University has been included in the list of key national universities since 2011.
Throughout 65 years of construction and development,Vinh UniversityThe university has undergone significant transformations. From 158 students in its first cohort and 17 faculty members, it now has nearly 40,000 students enrolled in 120 undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with preschool and primary education; its staff comprises over 1,000 people, of whom approximately 60% hold doctoral degrees, including 62 professors, associate professors, and senior lecturers.
Over the past five years, Vinh University has been among the top 15 Vietnamese universities with the most international publications. The university's training programs have been accredited, with the percentage of criteria meeting standards and achieving excellence ranking among the top 5 universities nationwide.
Notably, on November 6, 2024, Vinh University was included for the first time in the international rankings of the QS organization (a British organization specializing in education and study abroad activities) with a ranking in the top 851-900 in Asia.
With numerous achievements in training high-quality human resources for the country, Vinh University has been awarded many prestigious titles and honors by the Party and the State, such as: the title "Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period", twice awarded the First-Class Independence Order, the Third-Class Labor Order, and the Friendship Order of the Lao People's Democratic Republic...
At this time, the entire staff, teachers, and students of Vinh University are striving to build and develop the university into a prestigious training center in the region and the world.
At the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Quality Management Department - presented a flower basket from the Minister of Education and Training to Vinh University on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024) and to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the University's founding (1959-2024); and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training and the title of Emulation Soldier at the ministerial level to collectives and individuals of Vinh University who have achieved many outstanding achievements in their work.
On behalf of the authorized representative, the leaders of Vinh University also presented Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province to four individuals from Vinh University.
