Vinh University celebrates its 65th anniversary
On the morning of November 16, Vinh University held a ceremony to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day and the 65th anniversary of the University's founding (1959-2024).
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, there were Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management; representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; universities nationwide; Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities; representatives of the leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province; generations of cadres, teachers, students, trainees and postgraduates of Vinh University.
Vinh Pedagogical University was established in 1959. In 2001, Vinh Pedagogical University was renamed by the Prime Minister.Vinh Universitywith the goal of multidisciplinary training. Since 2011, Vinh University has been included in the list of key national universities.
During 65 years of construction and development,Vinh Universityhas made many strong changes. From 158 students in the first course and 17 lecturers, up to now, the school has nearly 40 thousand students with 120 training majors at university and postgraduate levels along with preschool and general education; the staff is over 1,000 people, of which, doctoral degrees account for about 60%, with 62 professors, associate professors, and senior lecturers.
In the past 5 years, Vinh University has been among the 15 Vietnamese universities with the most international publications. The school's training programs have been accredited with the rate of meeting and excellent criteria in the top 5 universities in the country.
Notably, on November 6, 2024, for the first time, Vinh University was included in the international rankings of QS (a British organization specializing in activities in the field of education and study abroad) with a ranking of top 851 - 900 in Asia.
With many achievements in training high-quality human resources for the country, Vinh University has been awarded many noble titles and awards by the Party and State, such as: Title "Hero of Labor in the renovation period", twice awarded the First Class Independence Medal, Third Class Labor Medal, Friendship Medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic...
At this time, the staff, teachers, students, and postgraduates of Vinh University have been making efforts to build and develop the school into a prestigious training center in the region and the world.
At the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management presented a flower basket from the Minister of Education and Training to Vinh University on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024) and the 65th anniversary of the University's founding (1959-2024); awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, and the title of Emulation Fighter at the Ministry level to collectives and individuals of Vinh University who have had many outstanding achievements in their work.
On behalf of the delegation, the leaders of Vinh University also presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province to 4 individuals of Vinh University./.
