Truong Giang collaborates with Thanh Thuy and her husband in a new film

The film crew of “Taxi, what's your name?” including lead actor Truong Giang, director - scriptwriter Do Duc Thinh, producer Thanh Thuy, and co-producer Vo Quang Vu just had an intimate premiere in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the premiere, the film crew shared with the press many interesting surprises about this “special gift”. The film is scheduled to be released on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2016.

“Taxi, what's your name?” is the opening project of 2016, actor Truong Giang not only plays the male lead in the film but also marks the cooperation between his own company - Truong Giang Communication - and the family of actors Thanh Thuy - Duc Thinh in the role of producer.

“Taxi, what’s your name?” is the third project of Thien Phuc Film Studio, after “Ma dai” released in theaters at the end of April 2015 and “Gia gan, My nhan va Gang to” is preparing to premiere in December 2015. Producer Thanh Thuy said that Thien Phuc is full of energy to continuously carry out new projects.

The film is a humorous journey of Thuong Phong - an absent-minded scientist who specializes in reptile research and a personality taxi driver named Binh Chi. They met because Thuong Phong missed his flight from Saigon to Da Lat, forcing him to take a taxi to the flower country to propose to his girlfriend Linh Linh on time. On the way, they encountered many funny and sad stories, even having to stop at... a motel of a strange couple (played by actor Chi Tai). The proposal failed, and they suddenly found themselves between two women, what will happen to Thuong Phong - Binh Chi and Linh Linh?

Director Do Duc Thinh said that he had not yet chosen anyone to play the female lead role of Binh Chi, so he handed over that task to the male lead actor Truong Giang. Many names were suggested, but Truong Giang had not yet decided who would accompany him throughout the 90 minutes of “Taxi, what's your name?” He only revealed the criteria: “That girl must know how to drive, be beautiful and have a talent for comedy and must definitely be younger than Truong Giang.” At the same time, Truong Giang also frankly expressed his opinion that he does not act in “nonsense comedy”, does not want to appear in a movie where the audience laughs and then forgets everything after leaving the theater. The role of Thuong Phong is also a challenge for him, he has never had to “act comedy” for 90 minutes with just one girl, in a small setting in a taxi. Truong Giang wants the audience to laugh heartily throughout the movie, but still remember the meaningful moments and stories afterward.

“Everyone will go through a time of hesitation in love. Is this true love? Is this the person I should spend the rest of my life with? The film not only pulls the audience into the taxi with Thuong Phong and Binh Chi, but also makes them see themselves in it, searching for the answer to lifelong happiness.” – director and scriptwriter Duc Thinh shared.

“Taxi, What’s Your Name?” will begin filming at the end of December, right around the time “Old Guy, Beauty and Gangster” is released to audiences. This romantic comedy is scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2015, as a gift for women on International Women’s Day.
