(Baonghean.vn) - With near-perfect scores of 9.75, Dau Vinh Phuong Uyen and Le Thi Hong Nhung are the two female students with the highest scores in the literature exam in the national high school graduation exam in Nghe An.

Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has always been known for producing many top-scoring and second-highest-scoring students in the national high school graduation exam for university admission. While the school hasn't released detailed statistics yet, the top-scoring candidates are beginning to emerge. Let's get acquainted with the two top-scoring students in Literature from Nghe An province, both from class 12C1 at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted!

Dau Vinh Phuong Uyen: "The secret is not to learn by rote or memorization."

Dau Vinh Phuong Uyen said that as soon as she found out her literature score was 9.75, she couldn't control her emotions and shouted loudly, causing her parents to rush over. Knowing that their beloved daughter had achieved a near-perfect score, Phuong Uyen's parents hugged and congratulated her.

"When my dad found out I won third prize in the national excellent student competition in Literature, he just patted me on the shoulder and praised me, but he wasn't overwhelmed with emotion like when he found out my high school exam results," Phuong Uyen excitedly recounted.

With scores of 9.75 in Literature, 8.8 in Mathematics, and 9.6 in English, Phuong Uyen achieved a total score of 28.15 in the national high school graduation exam, an extremely impressive number for a candidate in the humanities/social sciences group. Sharing her secret to studying Literature, Phuong Uyen said that she really enjoys studying literature but doesn't just memorize things by rote.

Phuong Uyen believes that Literature is a subject that allows her to express her individuality. For each lesson, she studies the main idea, then analyzes it to understand it more deeply and develops it into her own. Thanks to this, even though it's her specialized subject, studying Literature is not difficult for Phuong Uyen at all.

Speaking about her Literature exam, which scored 9.75, Phuong Uyen said that she was particularly impressed by the opening paragraph about "empathy" in life, using a line from Trinh Cong Son's song, "Living in life requires a compassionate heart."

Phuong Uyen said that her parents didn't place too much emphasis on academic achievements or grades, but always reminded her to be self-aware and take control of the path she chose. Sharing her future dreams, Phuong Uyen said she has applied to the Literature Education department so that she can become a teacher who teaches both knowledge and how to be a good person to her students.

Le Thi Hong Nhung: "Practice writing introductions and conclusions one week before the exam"

Upon learning she scored 9.75 in Literature, Hong Nhung burst into tears of joy, surprised by the unexpectedly high score. Nhung said that she wasn't entirely satisfied with her performance after leaving the exam room, even though it was her specialized subject.

Because of the stress of the first day of the exam, I made some mistakes. While I was quite confident with the first two questions, I lost my composure on the last literary essay question and didn't do well. After the exam, I only gave myself a score of 8-8.5.

Nhung's total score for all three subjects—Mathematics, Literature, and English—was 26.35 points. According to Nhung, her secret to achieving a score of 9.75 was practicing writing for one week before the exam.

Nhung said that because the concluding paragraph often falls near the end of the exam, she and many other students often get confused and run out of ideas. Furthermore, according to Nhung, the national high school graduation exam is divided into sections for scoring. The introduction and conclusion sections are easier to score points on than the body paragraphs.

In her exam, Nhung was most impressed with the final part of the essay commenting on Nguyen Khoa Diem's concept of the nation. Nhung quoted the author's own words, "I am proud to live in the glorious era of my nation, to understand my country, life, and myself better," before concluding her essay.

Phuong Uyen and Hong Nhung also expressed their gratitude to their homeroom teacher Nguyen Thi Hai Ly, Ms. Nguyen Hoai An, and all the teachers at Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School for always standing by them as they conquered an important milestone in their lives.
