PV:Dear Distinguished Educator Dau Van Mui, the concept of high-quality schools is not new to major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Resolution No. 35/2009/QH12 of the National Assembly also outlined the policy of building high-quality schools and encouraged localities to implement it. In Nghe An, at the secondary level, Phuong Hoang High-Quality High School is one of the few pioneering schools. So, what advantages does the high-quality model of Phuong Hoang High-Quality High School offer compared to regular secondary schools?

Teacher Dau Van Mui:The distinctive advantages of Phoenix High School are demonstrated through the following factors:

Firstly, the school boasts modern, standard-compliant facilities, including classrooms, subject-specific rooms (art, music, dance, physical education, foreign language, computer science, and laboratory rooms), a football field, a basketball court, a swimming pool, a student cafeteria, and a green, clean, beautiful, and safe campus.

Secondly, based on the curriculum framework issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, the school focuses on developing a program that meets the requirements of high-quality training, especially the advanced English program (7 lessons/week, with a significant amount of time allocated for native English-speaking teachers to directly teach English), and the bilingual program (teaching Mathematics and science subjects in English).

Thirdly, the school has a team of administrators and teachers including competent administrators and professionals, experienced educators; young teachers who are professionally competent, dedicated, and dynamic, and who are sent for professional training and development in Hanoi; and a team of visiting lecturers who are leading education experts, passionate about educational innovation.

Teacher Dau Van Mui:The school's goal is to meet the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive educational reform, while also fulfilling parents' aspirations for their children to be healthy, have a good educational environment, possess basic knowledge, a solid foundation in foreign languages, and to be emotionally intelligent and responsible. To achieve this important task, the school focuses on the following directions: Caring for students' health through ensuring food safety and hygiene, providing a nutritious school diet, and promoting physical education (sports, badminton, football, table tennis, basketball, etc.). Ensuring the sustainability of building a healthy educational environment, maximizing students' inherent abilities, strengthening ties with parents and social organizations, and fostering a friendly school environment and active student participation.

The school also builds a team of teachers and develops advanced educational programs, actively innovating teaching methods towards students being proactive, enthusiastic in mastering knowledge, and consciously improving their foreign language skills and life skills. From there, it effectively fulfills the mission of comprehensive education in terms of morality, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics.

PV:It is known that the 2016-2017 school year is the first year the school is enrolling students, and it is currently only for grades 1, 2, and 6. So what are the plans for the following years? What commitments does the school have to parents and students?

Teacher Dau Van Mui:In the 2016-2017 school year, the school enrolled students in grades 1, 2, and 6. In the 2017-2018 school year, it enrolled students in grades 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 10. Two years after the 2017-2018 school year, the school will have its full scale, with classes from grade 1 to grade 12. With the goal of prioritizing educational quality, students at Phuong Hoang High-Quality High School will always receive care for their physical and mental health, cultural knowledge, foreign languages, and especially life skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Specifically, each year, students will acquire fundamental knowledge thanks to the dedicated teaching of teachers, the enthusiasm and high self-study awareness of the students; in the evenings, they will review and study their lessons independently and prepare for the next day's learning without needing extra tutoring.

PV:Having served as the principal of a specialized high school for many years (Mr. Dau Van Mui was formerly the principal of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School), in his new role with a completely new educational model, has he anticipated any difficulties and what are his expectations for this new job?

Teacher Dau Van Mui:I am truly excited to be working again with generations of students, with parents, and with the school's teaching staff; this is a job that has always fascinated me in life.

The operating model of Phuong Hoang High-Quality High School is a common model in developed countries and in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. We have also acknowledged that, as the school is newly established, difficulties are inevitable. However, we are always aware that only the quality of teaching, school activities, and the academic and behavioral achievements of students each semester and each school year will provide the most convincing answer. In the immediate future, what we can do to build trust with parents and students is to thoroughly and carefully prepare the school's facilities, teaching staff, staff, curriculum, and conditions for the health and well-being of the students.
