At exactly 7:30, the bus departed to take the children to a humanitarian address in Tho Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. That is Hien Luong Social Protection Facility. |
The atmosphere was bustling throughout the journey with songs performed by the students themselves. These were songs about love for the homeland, family and friends. In particular, the students also knew many English songs by heart. |
Hien Luong Social Protection Center was established in 2006 and is currently caring for 51 subjects, including 31 children from 0 to 16 years old. In particular, there are 18 children with cerebral palsy and motor disabilities who must be fully served. |
When witnessing the children with cerebral palsy lying in one place, unable to speak or smile, the students affectionately visited, gave gifts and tried to talk to them. |
Teacher Pham Thi Hong Nhung could not hold back her tears as soon as she entered the intensive care room. She also guided the students to massage and massage the baby’s hands and feet, hoping that each student would better understand, sympathize with, and share with those less fortunate than themselves. |
For many students, this is the first time they have come into contact with children with disabilities. Hoang Trung Hieu, a student in class 6A2, confided: "Seeing children like this, I feel very sorry for them. I feel very lucky to be healthy and able to go to school. I also feel that I still rely too much on my parents. And from now on, I will try to be more independent and study better." |
As the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, the small gifts that the students of Phuong Hoang High Quality School bring to their friends and children are lovely lanterns and cakes. They install the batteries themselves, play music and hand them to the children. |
One of the characters that you are most interested in is Trinh Thi Ngan. Ngan is 13 years old this year, has brittle bone disease, and has been raised at the facility since 2006. Her family has 3 siblings who all have this terrible disease due to the effects of Agent Orange from their father. The older brother Trinh Xuan Nghia, born in 1999, lives with his parents because the facility can only take care of Ngan and his younger brother Trinh Xuan An, born in 2011. Mr. Ta Duy Sau - the owner of the facility said that although Ngan has a motor disability, she is very intelligent, and this year she was given special permission to go straight to grade 2 at Phu Thanh Primary School, Yen Thanh District because she can read and write fluently. |
Sharing the joy of welcoming Mid-Autumn Festival early, the brothers and sisters also guided the children how to play with lanterns. |
