Nghe An Southwest Economic - Technical College: 35 years of construction, growth and aspirations to reach new heights

Established in 1985, with the original name of Do Luong District Agricultural Primary School. In 1986, the school became a Vocational Training Center and then Do Luong Vocational Training Center. In 2004, the Center was under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An. In 2010, the People's Committee of Nghe An province upgraded it to Do Luong Economic - Technical Vocational College. In 2017, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to change its name toNghe An Southwest Economic - Technical College.

Since its establishment (1985 - 2020), Tay Nam Nghe An College of Economics and Technology has trained thousands of students, contributing human resources to serve the socio-economic development of the province and the region. Many generations of students have been successful, holding important positions in enterprises, state agencies... thereby contributing to affirming the tradition and training quality of the school.

With a policy of in-depth management and flexible development, the school always attaches importance to innovation, expansion and improvement of the quality of training professions, sustainable development in the direction of multi-disciplinary intermediate training, diverse training systems. Every year, hundreds of students have stable jobs after graduation, especially in technical, agricultural and forestry professions... The factor that creates the success of the school is thanks to the thorough implementation of the principle of "learning goes hand in hand with practice, theory goes hand in hand with practice, school goes hand in hand with society" with the slogan of action "Each person is good at one profession, knows many professions, is good at one thing, knows many things, strives to constantly study and practice to always have broad knowledge, deep experience, good results in work, in career and in life.

With outstanding achievements in vocational education, the school has been awarded many emulation flags and certificates of merit at all levels by the President, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial People's Committee. Many individual teachers, officials, and civil servants have been awarded noble titles by the state, emulation fighters at all levels, and excellent teachers at all levels.

Currently, the school has 2 functional departments, 2 training faculties, 1 department under the school with a staff of nearly 50 officers, lecturers and employees. Of which, 30% are masters. Most of the teachers are trained and teach in the right major. Every year, the school always has a plan to train and improve the professional qualifications and skills of officers and lecturers to improve the quality of teaching.

With the goal of comprehensive education, the school always accompanies students in their studies as well as in the process of approaching the working environment from vivid reality to fully convey to them the amount of professional knowledge, skills, abilities and professional practices; at the same time, forming for students the values ​​and ethical standards, so that after graduation, they will have enough professional qualities and abilities to meet the practical requirements of society.

In the 2020-2021 school year, the school continues to enroll intermediate-level students in the following majors: Welding, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Electronics, Fashion Sewing, and Veterinary Medicine. In addition, the school also cooperates with universities across the country to open joint training courses in Business Accounting, Finance - Banking, and Economic Management. At the same time, the school also continuously enrolls elementary students, short-term training courses, and vocational training in the fields of economics - engineering, agriculture and forestry for rural workers. Strengthen coordination with businesses in the process of education, consulting, and job placement after training.

With the motto "Learning goes hand in hand with practice", the School has been cooperating well with businesses, creating conditions for students to practice their profession from the practical production and business services at businesses, thereby creating conditions for students to apply the lessons learned in class into practice, helping to improve professional skills and professional capacity to meet the needs of employers after graduation.
