In the first days of the new school year, good news continuously came to teachers and students of Thanh Chuong 3 High School when the school had 2 valedictorians entering universities. The school also successfully “reached the finish line” when for the first time in the past school year, 2 students were commended by the Provincial People's Committee and their high school graduation exam results were raised 4 levels.

Valedictorian with 30/30 points wishes to contribute to building his homeland and country

Officially becoming a new student of the Military Technical Academy, during the days when the whole country was excitedly celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Nguyen Linh Chi (former student of class 12A1 - Thanh Chuong 3 High School) shared: "I feel more proud and happy with my decision to join the army. From previous events such as the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, watching the military security forces marching and parading, I hope that in the future I will also contribute my part to building my homeland and country".

As a female student, choosing the military sector, Linh Chi said that this was a decision after much careful consideration. After researching information about police and military schools, she decided to choose the Military Technical Academy even though she knew that this year the school only had 10 quotas for women.

Knowing that the entrance exam would be difficult, Linh Chi took part in the 12th grade aptitude test to have more chances to be admitted and she scored 104 points. Before that, she focused on the 12th grade provincial excellent student exam and won second prize in Chemistry, and an encouragement prize in Physics...

These favorable premises created a solid foundation for her to enter the high school graduation exam and the female student from a disadvantaged school won 28.75 points for block A00 (Math 9.5 points; Physics 9.25 points; Chemistry 9.75 points). In addition, her Literature subject also achieved 9 points. Along with 1.5 priority points for winning the second prize at the provincial level, Nguyen Linh Chi achieved a total admission score of 30 points, the top student of the Military Technical Academy.

One day before the opening ceremony, Nguyen Quang Bao, Linh Chi’s classmate and resident of Tam Dong commune, also went to Hanoi to complete the admission procedures for the Political Officer School. This year’s admission season, Bao was also on the list of students with the highest admission score of 30/30 points (including priority points).

Choosing the Political Officer School, this male student said he wanted to continue his family's tradition, because his older brother Bao graduated from the Information Officer School and is now working in Military Region 7. Bao's parents are now old and both are farmers, so Bao and his brothers chose the military to ease the burden on the family.

"Before joining the military, my brother told me that the military environment would have many differences, requiring discipline, discipline and serious training. But for me, all of that brings me excitement, anticipation and I am ready to face many challenges. My greatest ideal is to devote all my efforts to the protection of the country," Nguyen Quang Bao shared more.

Female student "overcomes difficulties" to enter her dream school

With 36.50 points, Nguyen Hien Anh (class 12D1) is in the top 2 students with the highest graduation scores in block C in the province.commendand I have just received the admission results to the Primary Education Pedagogy major at Vinh University.

Previously, Hien Anh said that she had dreamed of studying in big cities, but because of her family's circumstances, she chose a university near her home: Her parents used to be farmers and now work as factory workers, so their income is not much. Because they did not have a proper education, their parents' greatest wish is for their children to study well, go to university, and later have a career and a stable salary. She herself also believes that if she works hard and tries hard, she will realize her dream.

Sharing the reason for choosing the teaching profession, Hien Anh said that, due to her family's circumstances, she hardly studied outside. The knowledge she has gained, in addition to her own efforts, is largely thanks to her teachers: She is not the most outstanding student, she even failed the provincial excellent student exam. But the teachers at school always believed in her and encouraged her, helping her overcome herself. Achieving high scores in the exam and being commended is beyond her dreams.

After the commendation ceremony in the province, early last September, Nguyen Thi Hien (class 12A1) also went to Hanoi and enrolled in the IT 1 major of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Admitted to one of the majors known as the most difficult, Hien shared, "I was overwhelmed with joy."

As for Hien's teachers, it seems that no one was surprised by this result because in the High School Graduation Exam, Hien scored 38.25 points (in the top 2 of the province). In addition, she scored 82.52 points in the Thinking Assessment Test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This score was in the top 106 candidates with the highest scores in the 3rd round with over 24,000 candidates taking the exam and was used by Hien to be admitted to the IT1 major.

Hien's parents are farmers, so like many other families, they wanted Hien to study pedagogy. Hien herself won second prize in Math and Chemistry in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition for Grade 12, so she has a special love for natural sciences. However, when she set her goal of studying IT1, she never shared it with her parents and teachers because she knew that it was a very difficult major and had to compete with many excellent students, mainly national and international excellent students.

Silently nurturing her dream, Hien built a study path for herself: I think the most important thing is to persevere and overcome difficulties. During the review process, there were many times when I was helpless in front of difficult problems, could not find the solution and burst into tears. But I did not allow myself to give up. If I encounter obstacles, I can learn from teachers and friends.

Due to family circumstances, Hien's older sister (2 years older than Hien) although a very good student, after finishing 12th grade decided to work as a factory worker in Bac Ninh to give Hien the opportunity to study. After Hien, there are 2 younger siblings, so Hien also understands the difficulties of her parents, therefore, she has never made them worry.

This female student confided that when she took the Thinking Assessment Test, she did not even dare to ask her parents for money to register for a formal online review course. Therefore, instead of spending 4 - 5 million for a course, Hien saved money to buy "underground" online courses for only 60,000 - 70,000 VND. "If we take the formal course, we will be taught directly by teachers and if we do not understand, we can ask questions right in class. In the "underground" course, the lectures are often recorded, interrupted and do not follow each topic. Therefore, in reality, I register for these courses just to get the questions, solve them myself and then check the answers" - Hien confided.

Entering IT1, Hien said that this is not only her dream but also the expectation and hope of her whole family. Therefore, although there are many difficulties and hardships ahead, Hien believes that she will overcome them and become a useful person for society in the future. Hien shared that she chose IT because this is a field with a future. Therefore, she hopes that after completing the program, she will have the conditions to take care of her siblings, take care of her family and not let down the efforts of her parents, sister and teachers who have wholeheartedly helped her.

Since the beginning of grade 12, in addition to taking care of general quality, Thanh Chuong 3 High School has established a high score conquest team, focusing on talented students for training. Our goal is to help students have the opportunity to pass the top universities in the country and create a source for the province's commendation ceremony.

The school's greatest joy in the past school year was that despite being located in a difficult area of Thanh Chuong district, with a modest entrance fee and most of its students being farmers, the school had 2 students who were commended, many students with high scores, and were admitted to top universities in the country. In addition, the school's average graduation exam score ranked 23rd in the province, up 4 places compared to 2024, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Director of the Department of Education and Training.
