Authorities are searching for the security guard at an apartment building who beat a 68-year-old man, sending him to the hospital.
Images from the video clip show that despite being restrained, the security guard in the blue uniform brutally attacked and beat the 68-year-old man.
On the afternoon of January 5th, Colonel Le Anh Tuan, head of the Thu Duc District Police in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that he had directed an investigation into the assault of an elderly person by a security guard at an apartment building in the district.
The victim has been identified as Mr. Phan Van Quang, 68 years old, residing in Quang Tri province.
According to initial information, Mr. and Mrs. Quang have been in Ho Chi Minh City for over two years and are currently residing in Binh Thanh District.
Mr. Quang has a married son who lives in an apartment in the SaiGon Metro Park apartment complex (Truong Tho ward, Thu Duc district).

Mr. and Mrs. Quang frequently ride their motorbike down to the apartment building to visit their child. Each time they arrive, Mr. Quang parks his motorbike in the underground parking lot, goes up to his apartment to visit his child, and then goes back down to the basement to retrieve his motorbike and return home.
On January 2nd, Mr. and Mrs. Quang visited their child at SaiGon Metro Park apartment complex. As usual, Mr. Quang parked his motorbike in the underground parking lot and then went up to the apartment to see his child.
At 8:30 PM on January 2nd, Mr. and Mrs. Quang went down to the basement to get their motorbike but couldn't find it. Later, they discovered that their motorbike had been moved to another area.
Mr. Quang was about to get on his motorbike and go home, butSecurity guard Nguyen Manh Quan informed Mr. Quang that he had parked illegally and demanded a fine of 50,000 VND. Mr. Quang disagreed, stating that if he were to pay a fine, the security guard should provide a receipt.
An argument ensued, after which the security guard, Quân, snatched the motorbike keys, but Mr. Quang grabbed them back. The security guard then pushed the motorbike over onto Mr. Quang and proceeded to punch and kick him repeatedly in the face and body.
Seeing Mr. Quang lying unconscious with blood streaming down his face, people took him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
According to Colonel Le Anh Tuan, after the incident occurred, the ward police were present to record and clarify the situation. However, at that time, Mr. Quang was receiving emergency treatment, so the police were unable to take his statement.
Security guard Nguyen Manh Quan fled after assaulting Mr. Quang. Currently, the Thu Duc District police are pursuing Quan and awaiting the results of Mr. Quang's injury assessment before proceeding with legal action.
