Successfully captured wanted suspect with firearm

On the morning of August 12, 2021, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) announced that the unit is temporarily detaining the especially dangerous wanted criminal Pham Van Ngoc (born in 1973), residing in Tay Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

Previously, Pham Van Ngoc was wanted by the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province (Drug Crime Investigation Police Department) under Decision No. 03/CSMT dated March 17, 2020 for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking” stipulated in Clause 4, Article 251, Penal Code. The subject is an important link in the transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring that was dismantled by the authorities on November 23, 2019, arresting 04 subjects, seizing 10 heroin cakes, 8.6 kg of crystal meth, 816.9 grams of pink pills, 02 cars and many related evidences.

After escaping, Pham Van Ngoc continued to direct and collude with other subjects to commit drug-related crimes, causing outrage and anxiety among the masses. During that time, Ngoc frequently moved, taking advantage of the mountainous areas bordering Tan Ky, Yen Thanh, and Do Luong districts to hide; always carrying hot weapons on his person, with two to three juniors accompanying him to scout the way and provide protection.

Identifying this as an especially dangerous wanted subject, using firearms, being reckless, and ready to fight back against authorities when surrounded and arrested; the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department reported to the provincial police leadership to establish a special project to concentrate forces to verify, arrest, and ensure absolute safety for officers and soldiers.

Implementing the plan to fight the special case, on the night of August 11, 2021, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presided over and coordinated with the Mobile Police Department, Yen Thanh District Police, and Tan Ky District Police to discover the subject Ngoc at his private home in Tay Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District. At this time, it was determined that the subject had many types of hot weapons, which could pose a danger to people and forces.

Under the direct direction of the provincial police leaders at the scene, Nghe An police forces surrounded the suspect's house, combined with the Party Committee and Tay Thanh commune authorities to persistently persuade and successfully persuade Pham Van Ngoc to lay down his weapon and surrender. At the same time, they seized the weapons handed over by Ngoc, including: 01 pistol with 06 bullets inside, 01 stun gun with 07 bullets, 01 AK gun with 01 magazine and 30 bullets; 13 pink pills, 10 grams of heroin, 01 electronic scale and 01 homemade drug use kit.

Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department is continuing to investigate and clarify the criminal acts of the subject and the origin of the above weapons to handle them according to the provisions of the law./.
