Crackdown on hunting and trapping of wild birds in Dien Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department has launched a campaign to combat bird hunting and trapping, with the aim of preserving wild birds migrating to Vietnam.

Every year, when the rainy season comes, there are many specieswild, migratory birdscome to shelter and forage in Nghe An. This is also the time when people often organize illegal bird hunting.
From September 9th to now, the authorities have inspected the rice fields in Dien Tho commune bordering Dien Loi commune (Dien Chau), confiscating more than 20 kg of nets (equivalent to over 1,500 m of net), confiscating 2 sets of speakers that emit fake bird sounds; releasing 50 birds caught in the net, destroying the shelters...
A representative of Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department said: This is the first campaign to crack down on the hunting and trapping of wild and migratory birds. In the coming time, the Forest Protection Department will coordinate with local authorities to step up propaganda to the people and continue to crack down on the hunting and trapping of wild and migratory birds in all communes.

In particular, regularly check bird habitats such as coastal alluvial flats, ponds, swamps, and river banks from September this year until the end of April next year.
District People's CommitteeDien Chaualso issued documents, directing local authorities to organize and implement for businesses in the area to sign a commitment not to buy, sell, use, consume, display, or advertise wild birds, and to completely destroy markets and gathering places for trading wild birds and illegal migration in the area.
