Authorities crack down on the hunting and trapping of wild birds in Dien Chau.
(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department launched a campaign to crack down on bird hunting and trapping, with the aim of conserving wild and migratory bird species that come to Vietnam.

Every year, during the rainy season, many species appear.wild, migratory birdsThey come to Nghe An province to seek shelter and forage for food. This is also the time when people often organize illegal hunting of birds.
From September 9th to the present, authorities have inspected rice fields in Dien Tho commune bordering Dien Loi commune (Dien Chau district), confiscating over 20 kg of netting (equivalent to over 1,500 m of netting), two sets of loudspeakers that emit fake bird sounds; releasing 50 birds caught in the nets, and destroying nesting areas…
A representative from the Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department stated: This is the first operation to crack down on the hunting and trapping of wild and migratory birds. In the coming time, the Forest Protection Department will coordinate with local authorities to strengthen public awareness campaigns and continue to organize raids to combat the hunting and trapping of wild and migratory birds in all communes.

In particular, regular inspections should be conducted in areas where birds frequently live, such as coastal mudflats, ponds, swamps, and river sandbanks, from September of this year until the end of April next year.
District People's CommitteeDien ChauAuthorities have also issued directives instructing local governments to organize the implementation of a commitment by businesses in their areas to refrain from buying, selling, using, consuming, displaying, or advertising wild birds, and to completely dismantle markets and trading points for wild and migratory birds in their areas.
